The AcquisitionSettings class provides a module-local storage object for holding
on to the properties of the audio data source (acquisition module) upon which the
module is depending.
When provided, the AIS channel is indicated as either "1" or "2." This channel indication is relative to the
operating conditions of the transponder when the packet is received.
