Making Maps and background images for PAMGuard
PAMGuard supports two types contour data: raster maps and contour vector maps.
It can also display GeoTIFF background images, for example a nautical chart, or georeferences image extracted from Google Earth or another geographical information source.
GEBCO depth data
GEBCO have ended support for their vector contour maps, though many are still in use and if you have vector contour data from a different source, you may be able to generate your own contour files. The main download from GEBCO is now in the form of Gridded Bathymetry Data in NetCDF format.

Background images
PAMGuard can also use a GeoTIFF image as map background. This may be extracted from one of the many online sources of map data, such as Open Street Map, Google Earth, or even a nautical chart.
